Cummins and Valvoline® signed a technical alliance in
1995 to market heavy-duty lubricants in North America.
The focus of the partnership has expanded to include
joint ventures in emerging markets around the world.
This worldwide cooperation combines engine, lubricant,
filtration and DEF technology to deliver products and
services that reduce total cost of ownership and achieve
our shared goal of customer for life.
Air Shield™ DEF Product Description
The raw materials used to produce DEF include natural gas, coal or other petroleum products. DEF is prepared by dissolving solid high purity urea in deionized water to create a 32.5% solution in water. DEF and similar urea-based products are widely used today for a variety of agricultural and industrial needs. Fleetguard/Valvoline Air Shield DEF meets ISO22241 specifications for purity and composition, while being:
- Non-toxic and non-polluting
- Non-flammable
- Stable and colorless
- Non-hazardous
- Does not require special handling
Dispensing Equipment
To prevent contamination, clean dispensing equipment
made with DEF compatible materials must be used
when dispensing Air Shield into the vehicle. Cummins
