REN Products
  • Contents and Objectives:
  • Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level        Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change Products.
  • Objective 2: To become familiar with Fleetguard’s REN Fluid Level         Sensors, Controls and Reservoirs product line.
  • Objective 3: To become familiar with the basic Installation Instructions for        REN Products.

4
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change Products.
5
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Multi-cylinder stationary engines are used in many applications and markets.
6
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Some of these Markets include:
    • Oil and Gas
    • Power Generation
    • Compressor Operation
    • Pump Operation
    • Irrigation
7
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • In these applications and markets, engines must operate for long uninterrupted periods of time, without the constant monitoring by service technicians or maintenance personnel.
8
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • During extended operating intervals these engines may consume large quantities of engine lubricating oil.
9
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Oil consumption is caused by many factors. Oil can seep past seals and gaskets and be burned during the combustion process, or…
10
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • …simply leak from the engine. In either case, the lubricating oil level can drop to a harmful, if not dangerous level.
11
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Many engines that operate in these conditions are protected by low-oil level shutdown switches. These switches are designed to sense oil levels that are not adequate to provide the necessary lubrication, and will shutdown the engine.
12
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • While this “shutdown” condition protects the engine from damage, it interrupts the necessary operation and production of the system.
13
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Costly downtime is the result, and operators and companies of engines in these applications welcome an alternative.
14
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • Another factor for engines that run constantly for long periods of time is costly shutdowns for normal servicing requirements.
15
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • While the engines may not leak or consume oil, they do need to be serviced. Extended Service Intervals are considered to minimize downtime, but engine shutdown for servicing is inevitable.
16
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
  • An alternative to engine shutdown for servicing is to use a “Continuous Oil Change” process. This can be accomplished with specialized products designed for this purpose, and are growing in demand.
17
Objective 1: To become familiar with the need for continuous Oil Level Monitoring and Continuous Oil Change products.
